You are cordially invited to the Thirsting To Serve 9th Annual Water Conference held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Prince Conference Center / Calvin College in Grand Rapids. The name of the conference is “A Flood of Opportunity.”
This year’s water conference will be a time to celebrate the great work that has been done and that which is planned for the future. The major celebration this year is the completion of the two million dollar Rotary Foundation and USAID Alliance Grant in the Dominican Republic. The leadership that flowed out of Rotary District 6290 was amazing. Because water still isn’t safe in all communities, we must look to what is next. We now know that collaborative partnerships do work and we must continue this strategy if we are going to make a difference in other locations. We learned last year that the impact of youth being involved could be quite profound and inspirational to future generations. A special guest this year will be Miranda and her Bethany Christian Services experience in Guatemala. Miranda is the WOTV 4 women, kids and family expert with a weekly show.
This is not a water conference to miss….it is a conference to bring young people, your church friends and anyone concerned about water and the rest of the world ….it is a conference where everyone participates, discusses and leaves with new energy to get involved. We will be hearing from Rotary Interactors, Rotary Districts and their vision, T2S grant reports, how churches can make a difference, what is this Carbon Financing all about, how to plan a water trip and much more.
For Rotary members there is an early registration fee available until March 4, 2013 of $50.00 and after that date the fee is $60.00. All adult non Rotary fees for the conference are $60.00. Student fee is a special price of only $20.00. These fees include all the activities and lunch.
Rotary clubs are encouraged to invite and sponsor the youth in their communities to attend and use this opportunity to strengthen these relationships.
