GRANT APPLICATION POLICIES & PROCEDURES
- Clubs should apply for DISTRICT SIMPLIFIED GRANT (DSG) FUNDS if project
- Has a partnering Rotary club or approved Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in project country
- Is not requesting District Designated Funds (DDF) or The Rotary Foundation (TRF) matching funds
- Does not exceed a request for more than $1,000
- Desires a $1.00 to $1.00 match
- Meets “All Projects” requirements below

Note: Can be a domestic project at the discretion of District 6290 WCS Committee
- Clubs should apply for DISTRICT DESIGNATED FUNDS (DDF) if project
- Has a partnering Rotary club in project country
- Is not requesting District Simplified Grant (DSG) funds
- Exceeds a request for $1,000
- Desires a $1.00 to $1.00 match
- Will not exceed five grant applications in any given year of the host partner
- Meets “All Projects” requirements below

- Clubs should apply for THE ROTARY FOUNDATION (TRF) MATCHING FUNDS if project
- Has a partnering Rotary club in project country
- Is not requesting District Simplified Grant (DSG) funds
- Is a minimum request of $5000 and a maximum request of $150,000
- Desires a $.50 to $1.00 match with local club money and/or a $1.00 to $1.00 match with DDF money
- Will not exceed five grant applications in any given year if the host partner
- Meets “All Projects” requirements below

Note: If grant request exceeds $25,000, a community needs assessment is required and the application must be reviewed at the October or April TRF Trustees’ meetings for final approval
- Clubs should use the T2S application form if not seeking DSG or other Rotary funds and apply for THIRSTING TO SERVE FUNDS if project:
- Has a partnering Rotary club or a non-governmental agency (NGO) in project country
- Is a minimum request of $1,000
- Desires a $1.00 to $1.00 match
- Meets “All Projects” requirements below

Note: if applying for both DSG and T2S you may apply for both utilizing the DSG Application
- Clubs should apply for DISTRICT GENERAL FUND (DGF) if project
- Is not requesting DSG, DDF or TRF matching funds
- Is for a worthwhile project that does meet above criteria, such as disaster relief and brochures
- Submit letter explaining the need and amount of request to WCS Committee
- Clubs should apply for REVOLVING LOAN GRANTS if project
- Has a partnering Rotary club or a non-governmental agency (NGO) in project country
- Is not requesting District Simplified Grant (DSG) funds
- Meets either the DDF and/or TRF criteria depending upon the project
- Meets “All Projects” requirements below

ALL PROJECTS FOR DSG, DDF, TRF AND THIRSTING TO SERVE FUNDS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate wishes of receiving community and understanding and appreciation for receiving country’s traditions and culture
- Include direct involvement (which means more than writing a check) of Rotarians to oversee and implement project and expenditures
- Submit timely reports as required by specific types of grants
- Submit a final report, which includes a digital photo, within stipulated timeline of project completion
- Meet specific requirements of each type of grant application as explained in the instructions for each type of grant
- Example for which funds cannot be used
- Reimbursement of existing projects
- Construction or renovation of buildings (bricks and mortar projects)
- Salaries, stipends, or honorariums
- Operating expenses of another organization
- Personal or professional development
- Travel
